How many units can a lot hold in RHD-B?

Applying the district's lot-area and density rules (the stricter one wins) to typical lot sizes:

Lot sizeMax unitsRule that limits it
5,000 sq ft6735 sqft for the first 1 unit(s) + 735 sqft per additional
7,500 sq ft10735 sqft for the first 1 unit(s) + 735 sqft per additional
10,000 sq ft13735 sqft for the first 1 unit(s) + 735 sqft per additional
15,000 sq ft20735 sqft for the first 1 unit(s) + 735 sqft per additional
21,780 sq ft (½ acre)29735 sqft for the first 1 unit(s) + 735 sqft per additional

Multi-unit numbers only matter where duplexes or multi-family are allowed above. In Jacksonville the Future Land Use Map category can cap density further, and overlays (Riverside/Avondale, San Marco, Springfield and others) can change the numbers.

Notes from the code

Permitted uses (§656.307.A.II(a)): multiple-family dwellings; neighborhood retail, service or office structurally integrated with multi-family, up to 25% of floor area. Single-family is not a permitted use. A duplex is a multiple-family dwelling by definition (§656.1601). Townhomes are not expressly listed. Lot area: 735 sq ft for each family unit, not to exceed 60 units per acre (§656.307.A.II(d)). Height: 60 ft; unlimited if all yards increase 1 ft per 3 ft above 60 (§656.307.A.II(g)(2)). §656.307 gives no minimum lot width. Secondary-district criterion: site must front a collector or higher (§656.350(g)). The ADU rule (§656.403(g)) requires a principal single-family dwelling, so ADUs are effectively not available.
